SonicsGate

I've always been a basketball freak and have been interested in all the wheelings and dealings behind the scenes of the NBA. In 2006, the Seattle Supersonics, a team rich in championship history from the 60's onward with a deep loyal fan base, got sold in a controversial move to Oklahoma City (thus becoming the the OKC Thunder). There was an uproar in Seattle and a conspiracy behind NBA commissioner David Stern and the leagues motives behind this. Filmmaker Jason Reid responded by making Sonicsgate: Requiem For A Team, a great documentary that examines history of the team and all the details regarding this debacle.

The film features a number of the SEA players, old and new, and has picked up a number of awards since its release in 2009. I saw this when it came out and really dug it and was happy to see the entire film available online. It's a long one but even if you don't give 2 shits about the NBA or sports, its a good watch.... everyone loves to root for the underdog. Check out the Sonicsgate site for more info and behind the scenes stuff.
